The Nau Quinhentista, a replica of a Portuguese vessel from the early 16th century, was designed by Rear Admiral Rogério d’Oliveira and built at the Samuel & Filhos shipyards.

With a length of 27.50 meters, a width of 7.70 meters, a height of 4.75 meters, and a weight of about 300 tons and carried 180 tons of cargo.

Inside the ship, you can see different recreations of life on board at the period, reflecting the complexity encountered by navigators on their deep-sea trips, such as crew quarters, places and forms of storage of products, disposal of cartographic material and navigation aids, artillery pieces, ballast, and so on.
