This eccentric yet stylish speakeasy-style bar on Avenida da Liberdade has a New York vibe.
This is a bar that knows its liquid history, specializing in Prohibition-era cocktails as well as later classics.
The room itself has a slightly obscene feel to it, with a button you press to gain entry (enticingly labelled ‘press for cocktails’ – look for the distinctive red frog logo).
Inside, you’ll find a sophisticated cocktail lounge with elegant and comfortable seating and – crucially – a well-stocked bar, with an aural collage of swing music, jazz, funk, and rock playing in the background, adding to the ambience.
The décor is inspired by the 1920s and 1930s, and the atmosphere is convivial and bohemian, bringing people together over prettily presented (these are some seriously attractive drinks) and well-mixed cocktails.
