Prep Time: 4 minutes; Cook Time: 6 minutes; Marinating Time: 20 minutes; Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 lb. (450g) Queen prawns, 31–40 peel-on, thawed
- 3/4 cup white wine
- 2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. sweet pepper paste
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. hot sauce (e.g., Tabasco; adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley, roughly chopped
Instructions:
-
In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the white wine, garlic, pepper paste, salt, pepper, paprika, and hot sauce.
-
Pat the prawns dry with a paper towel to remove moisture.
-
Place the prawns in a bowl, add the marinade, and ensure they are evenly coated. Allow them to marinate for 20–30 minutes.
-
Heat butter in a frying pan over medium-low to medium heat. Once the butter bubbles, add the prawns and marinade.
-
Spread out the prawns and cook for 3–4 minutes until the bottom side turns red. Flip and cook the other side until red.
-
Turn off the heat, transfer the prawns to a serving dish, and sprinkle chopped parsley over the top.
-
Serve with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful sauce. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes:
- For quick defrosting, place frozen prawns in cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Adjust cooking time based on prawn size.
- Peel-on prawns enhance flavour, but peel-off works well too.
